How Do Clinical Laboratories Define and Monitor Turnaround Times? Findings From an EQA Questionnaire
Turnaround time (TAT) is defined in ISO 15189 as the elapsed time between two specified points through pre-examination, examination, and post-examination phases, and the rate of achievement is recommended as a quality indicator. This study investigated how laboratories participating in Labqualityʼs General Clinical Chemistry Serum B and C EQA program define and utilize TATs in practice.
